Arcoiris Jungle Lodge is situated in the heart of the jungle of Ecuador - Amazonia, on the banks of the river Napo, a picturesque affluent of the grandest river in the world - the Amazon. Arcoiris Jungle Lodge is only 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) away from the Yasuni National Park, the largest national park in the world, which covers an area of 982,000 hectares. Its forests are hosts to the greatest number of species of flora and fauna per hectare in the world. The park was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1989. Another unique area located 30 minutes from our hotel is the Laguna Limoncocha National Biological Reserve. Over 298 species of birds live on the reserve. Laguna Limoncocha also holds a large amount of tortoises and a diverse population of fish. Towering trees provide homes for hundreds of types of animals.Ecuador has over 350 documented species of mammals. Of these, there are over 130 bat species and almost 20 primates. Ecuador also boasts 30 endemic mammal species -- astounding given the relatively small size of the country.
The Yasuni National Park and Laguna Limoncocha Reserve are in our tour program, along with fishing for piranhas and birdwatching.
Arcoiris Jungle Lodge can be reached in only 45 minutes by our motor canoe from the town of Francisco de Orellana (El Coca). Ten spacious bungalows are placed on the Napo riverbank on a high hill. The resort owns 50 hectares (123 acres) of primary jungle. We did our best to keep the atmosphere of a virgin forest. The great tranquility of the jungle and the untouched nature are so rare and thus precious nowadays. The hotel restaurant, bar, swimming pool and the bungalows are connected with each other by wooden footpaths, so that even after it rains (rainforests will always be rainforests) you will be comfortable in your sandals or slippers on the territory of the hotel.
Our bungalows are constructed using traditional local materials and they perfectly fit into surrounding jungle. Each cabin has a private terrace with hammocks and a wonderful forest view. The bungalows have high thatched roofs, anti-insect window screens, electricity and hot water available 24x7. In every bungalow there is a queen-sized bed and upon your request a second bed can be added.
During the morning or night tours to the jungle on our territory you will be able to observe the most diverse wildlife. Our guides will provide you with detailed information on the surrounding nature of this largest river in jungle of Ecuador.
Jungle Lodge Arcoiris is the only ALL-Inclusive eco-resort in Ecuador. You may leave your cash at home - you will not need it in our hotel.The pre-paid package includes literally everything: meals in our restaurant, daily exciting jungle tours , transfers between the airport and the Lodge and alcoholic beverages at the bar.
