WHEN IS THE BEST SEASON TO VISIT ARCOIRIS JUNGLE LODGE?

The climate in Ecuador is quite smooth thus the answer - any time of the year. The average temperature from January to December is 82°F (28°C). Certainly, rains are quite possible, but that does not exclude bright sunshine the same day.

Tourists visiting us usually expect to have much more rains, heat and insects than we can provide, so do not fear of being too uncomfortable.

ARE THERE ANY VACCINATIONS REQUIRED?

No vaccinations are required to visit Ecuador or Arcoiris Jungle Lodge. Though no cases of tropical diseases (malaria, yellow fever, cholera, etc) have been reported near Arcoiris Jungle Lodge area, we still do recommend you to consult your physician for a professional advice.

HOW SHALL WE SHEDULE THE TRIP TO ARCOIRIS JUNGLE LODGE BEST?

We do not recommend you to schedule any international flights and/or connections on the same day you are leaving Ecuador's jungle. On your way to or hotel you can make your schedule comfortable for yourself - we will adjust the travel schedule duly, but on your way back it is better to schedule your stay in Quito for the night after the jungle trip.

HOW DO WE FLY TO ARCOIRIS JUNGLE LODGE?

Arcoiris Jungle Lodge works with local private airlines using Fokker T28 planes with 67 seats which is in accordance with the requirements of the ISO1901 standard. We do not use fixed schedule flights. Arcoiris Jungle Lodge usually uses the following departure schedule:

departures from Quito: 09:30hrs or 11:30hrs
arrival to Coca: 10:00hrs or 12:00hrs
departure from Coca: 10:30hrs or 12:30hrs
arrival to Quito: 11:00hrs or 13:00hrs

WHAT IS THE FLIGHT LUGGAGE WEIGHT LIMIT?

The maximum allowed luggage is 15 kilos (33 pounds) per person plus a hand-luggage you take to the cabin. If your luggage weight exceeds the above limits, you ill have to pay the approximate of USD$1.00 per kilo per way. In case you arrive for a long period and wish to have more luggage, we can send it from Quito to the Lodge by ground within 24 hours.

HOW DO WE GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO ARCOIRIS JUNGLE LODGE?

The morning you leave for the lodge representative of Arcoiris Jungle Lodge shall collect you at the Terminal Nacional of the airport (National or Domestic Terminal) or at the hotel you specify (for groups) to help you with the boarding formalities and luggage.

DO WE NEED PASSPORTS?

Yes, passports are necessary.

IS THERE ELECTRICITY AT THE LODGE?

Arcoiris Jungle Lodge is powered 24 x 7 by 110v (60Hz) current (the same standard as in the United States). The plugs have three holes, two plane parallel prongs and one circle prong. It is also possible to use the European standard devices to be switched on.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE CHILDREN TO THE LODGE?

Children above 5 y.o. are welcome at Arcoiris Jungle Lodge.

IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR CHILDREN?

For children from 5 to 12 years there is a 30% discount at Arcoiris Jungle Lodge for the Arcoiris Jungle Lodge program and the airfare. To duly arrange for the discount you have to confirm the child's age with a copy of the child's passport when booking.

HOW DO WE KEEP OUR CAMERAS FROM HUMIDITY AND RAIN?

Ziploc plastic bags will be most useful to protect your lenses and cameras, so if you have a couple of them with you it might keep your equipment safe. A waterproof back pack is also a smart decision. A rain poncho is also a good thing to have with you - it is light and it might protect you as well as your luggage in the jungle when caught by rain.

You can always count on us - we can provide with absorbents you can use in your back packs or camera case.
